Trauma Center Position summary The Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
performs diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations
for inpatient and outpatient populations in a short-term acute care
hospital and Level II Trauma Center. This role supports an average
of 10 exams per shift while collaborating closely with
cardiologists and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver
accurate, high-quality imaging and patient-centered care. Key
responsibilities Perform echocardiography and vascular ultrasound
examinations according to physician orders and departmental
protocols. Prepare and position patients for diagnostic procedures,
explaining exams and ensuring comfort and cooperation throughout
the study. Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality
diagnostic images, optimizing settings and views as clinically
indicated. Accurately document exam findings, measurements, and
workflow in the electronic medical record and reporting systems.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support
timely interpretation, clinical decision-making, and continuity of
care. Maintain patient safety, infection control standards, and
proper equipment care in accordance with hospital policies.
Required qualifications & skills Minimum 1 year of experience as an
Echo and/or Vascular Technologist in a clinical setting. Ability to
perform an average of 10 exams per shift while maintaining image
quality and workflow efficiency. Flexibility to participate in
on-call coverage and work weekends as needed. First-time travelers
welcome. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and
patient-focused approach. Core competencies Cardiac and vascular
ultrasound expertise , including image acquisition and measurement.
Patient preparation, education, and comfort during diagnostic
procedures. Workflow efficiency and time management in a
high-volume acute care environment. Accurate documentation and
collaboration with cardiology and multidisciplinary teams.
Adherence to safety, infection control, and quality standards.
