Power Plant Instrument Technician Company: Our client is a

owners/developers, and large load facilities. They focus on living

excellent customer service. Position Overview: As a Power Plant
Instrument Technician, your main responsibility will be to inspect,
adjust, and repair electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic
instruments to indicate, record, and control the operations of
high-pressure steam boilers, turbines, and gas turbines in a power
plant. You will also be responsible for maintaining and calibrating
plant instrumentation according to standards, troubleshooting, and
preparing routine reports. To qualify for this position, you must
have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of
experience in process control, calibration, maintenance, and repair
of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC control
instrumentation, or a combination of relevant education and
experience. You must also possess a valid driver's license and a
Texas Operator's License. In terms of skills, you should have the
ability to braze and solder, read and understand P&ID's, single
line and wiring diagrams, operate a forklift, operate electric
drills, drill press, saws, digital multimeters, calibrators, and
hand tools, and related equipment as required by the job
description. You should also be able to establish and maintain
effective working relationships, take direction from supervisors,
communicate effectively with others, and keep records and prepare
reports. As for physical requirements, you should be able to
continuously lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds,
and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. You should also be able to
frequently stand and kneel during your shift, occasionally walk,
sit, and bend, climb ladders, stairs, or inclined surfaces, and
push and pull objects. You should also be able to rotate your upper
trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing and place your
arms above, at, and below shoulder height. Coordination of eye,
hand, and foot movement is also required in order to operate a
vehicle. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits
that include health, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, short-term and
long-term disability. The work schedule will be a modified DuPont
schedule, which consists of a four-week cycle with alternating
shifts and days off. This is a contract position that will run
through November 1, 2023, and is located in Lubbock, TX. This
position requires extensive travel, and the candidate will be
provided with a per diem allowance to cover their expenses while on
the road. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspecting meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal
fluctuations
- Removing defective instruments from the system. Disassemble,
clean, and repair instruments
- Inspecting, maintaining, and calibrating plant instrumentation
according to standards
- Repairing electronic and pneumatic monitoring and control
equipment, circuits, devices, and actuators. Undertaking such
associated tasks as may be necessary and practical to complete a
given project
- De-energizing and locking out equipment power sources,
mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical up to 480 V.A.C. and 125
V.D.C.
- Keeping records, preparing routine reports and documents work
with CMMS software in an efficient and organized manner
- Performing routine trouble shooting activities
- Performing related duties as required
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent with an additional
one-year process control experience including calibration,
maintenance, and repair of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and
PLC control instrumentation; or any combination of relevant
education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and
abilities identified below.
- Valid Current Driver's License required.
- Texas Operator's License required. Must also have the following
demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of:
- materials, and tools used in the calibration, maintenance, and
repair of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC control
instrumentation used in power generation facilities.
- Ability to:
- Braze and solder
- Read and understand P&ID's, single line and wiring
diagrams
- Operate a forklift
- Operate electric drills, drill press, saws, digital
multimeters, calibrators, and hand tools and related equipment with
job description
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Take direction from Supervisor(s)
- Communicate effectively with others
- Keep records and prepare reports Physical Requirements:

height.
- Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a
vehicle. Compensation:
- $35-40/hour DOE
