Job DescriptionOverview, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities:OverviewThe Human Resources Assistant will be under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, will provide a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services for the HR department. The HRA will administer, support and enforce all policies relating to all phases of human resources. The HRA will administer team member benefits, support plant payroll, support recruitment and retention processes, assist with team member engagement projects and other duties as assigned.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe HRA position is accountable for ensuring the following:Recruitment - phone screens, scheduling onsite interviews, conducting pre-employment checks, and new hire orientationTeam Member engagement – respond to inquiries regarding policies and communication eventsDocument Tracking – Updating team member files, attendance records, benefits, and performance reviewsTime Management – effectively prioritize assignments based on the changing need of the facilityFlexibility – Available to work a variety of shifts when applicable and work weekends and overtime when neededConfidentiality – Must maintain a high level of confidentiality in their everyday workPerform additional related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities; Education; and/or Work Experience Requirements: Education and Work ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED RequiredCollege Degree or completion of applicable program preferred1-2 years' experience in administrative, human resources, and recruitment experienceExperience in a plant and/or manufacturing environmentKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of HRIS Systems, preferably ADP & E-timeGeneral Knowledge of HR related Federal/State regulations and employment law Must be organized, have good communication and interpersonal skillsComputer skills – proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and ExcelAbility to deal with problems in common operating situationsKnowledge, skills, and abilities consistent with the essential duties and responsibilitiesPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions: Physical RequirementsMust be able to walk, sit, and stand for a prolonged period of timeMust be able to use hands, arms, and fingers to handle, feel, and reachMust be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 poundsMust be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 poundsWorking ConditionsThe HRA position is located in an office setting of a manufacturing environment, which can include:Exposure to high temperaturesFumes or airborne particlesMoving mechanical parts and vibrationLoud noise levelAllergensElevated heightsHot surfacesShearer's provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
