Job Title: Service LeadmanTechnician Reports to: Shop Foreman

Department: Service FLSA Status: Non Exempt

Travel Required: None Work Schedule: Consistent

Purpose of Position: Under the supervision of the Shop Foreman, the Lead Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on Class 5 and Class 8 trucks and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guidelines.

Supervises: N/A

Essential Job Functions:
---Oversees tech work duties. Assists with questions from personnel, and streamlines work in the shop to maximize efficiency.
---Helps offset work load for warranty training.
---Diagnoses higher level electrical and mechanical issues.
---Oversees daily workflow in Service Department.
---Diagnoses drive ups and assigns follow ups.
---Communicates with customers on ETA's & repair needs.
---Coaches & guides technicians on repairs.
---Works directly with Service Manager on shop tooling, training & parts needs.

Required Skills/ Abilities:
---Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
---Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
---Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
---Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
---Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Preferred Education:
---General education degree or technical training education.

Preferred Experience:
---One or two years related experience and/ortraining; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Preferred Qualifications:
---CDL License
---ASE certification
---Freightliner certifications
