Major/Essential Functions:
An individual in this role will actively work towards the following
objectives:
Assist in developing, delivering, and monitoring compliance for
internal and campus-wide training programs for departmental effort
coordinators, principal investigators, research faculty, department
grant administrators and AS Research staff and escalate in
accordance with institutional policy.
Direct the effort reporting and certification process for the
university's sponsored projects, including monitoring compliance
with certification timeline and escalate outstanding effort
statements in accordance with institutional policy; coordinate with
Information Systems (IS) to maintain the effort certification
system and test and implement system patches and upgrades as
needed.
Prepare, deliver, and monitor compliance with training programs for
both departmental effort coordinators and principal investigators
and escalate in accordance with institutional policy.
Review salary and salary change requests on sponsored projects for
compliance with federal regulations and institutional policy;
administer assigned compliance reviews in accordance with
departmental policy and procedure.
Contribute to the sub-recipient compliance function to include
maintaining the sub-recipient database, and encumber funds.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or a closely related field.
CRA/CPRA/CFRA certificate or eligible candidate.
Post-award grant experience including budgeting, invoicing,
financial reporting, award set up and award closeout, and effort
reporting.
Experience with Banner, Cognos and Cayuse (or similar financial,
reporting and grants management systems).
Demonstrated competency in verbal and written communication, time
management, accounting or analytical procedures, problem-solving,
and decision-making.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and
in writing with all levels of the institution, which includes
advising principal investigators and sponsored programs
administration staff.

About the Department and/or College:
Accounting Services is seeking a talented individual to join its
Compliance Team. This team serves a vital role in ensuring
university compliance with federal, state, and institutional
regulations governing sponsored projects. The Compliance Team
oversees the university's effort reporting and certification
process, monitors salary requests on sponsored projects, and
contributes to sub-recipient compliance functions. On a day to day
basis, the individual filling this role will oversee compliance
requirements regarding sponsored projects as well as serve as the
primary contact during the semi-annual effort certification period
and will work closely with faculty and effort coordinators across
campus.

Pay Statement:
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the
individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring
