The mission of the AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) program is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. NCCC's Fall 2022 team member role is a full-time, 10-month service opportunity for anyone interested in making an impact in communities across the country while gaining leadership experience. You'll train in either Aurora, CO or Sacramento, CA then deploy with your team of 6-12 AmeriCorps members, ages 18-26, to a project site within the U.S. No prior work experience is required. Training Location: Aurora, CO or Sacramento, CA Requirements to serve: Must be between 18 to 26 years old Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident of the U.S. Must pass an initial drug screening test upon arrival to the program Must be available to leave your hometown and serve full-time from October 2022 - July 2023 Benefits: During service, you will receive: Basic expenses, including communal housing, meals, and medical benefits. All program-related travel, including to your training location, projects, and back home after your service term. A modest living allowance for your personal expenses. Valuable training in leadership, , teamwork, and more. After service, you will receive: An Education Award of over $6,000 to be used for student loans or future educational expenses. The AmeriCorps NCCC Team Member role is for young adults who want a hands-on service experience and the chance to work with multiple sponsor organizations to meet a variety of community needs. AmeriCorps NCCC can help you become adaptable and flexible, and will introduce you to exciting professional paths. You'll work on at least four different projects in different states and cities with multiple sponsor organizations to meet a variety of community needs in the areas of energy conservation, infrastructure improvement, natural and other disaster services, and urban and rural development.
