Job Description:

Position Summary:Reports to the case management coordinator. Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to inmate records administration in accordance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) directivesEssential Functions:1. Operate basic office equipment, e.g., photocopier, facsimile, multi-line phone/voicemail systems, mailing machines, and minimal computer programs, assist case managers, correctional counselors and case management coordinator.2. Perform input and output operations and make adjustments necessary to ensure schedules are met.3. Perform duties including typing correspondence, form letters, accountability forms, status reports and input/output forms in a timely manner.4. Maintain files on department records, forms and correspondence sent, received and/or requiring further action.5. Assist case management coordinator. Review legal documents and release paperwork for accuracy and print all completed documents.6. Assist the case management coordinator with inmate case management assignments for new arrivals.7. Ensure the confidentiality and security of all inmate judgment and commitment files, central files and special files.8. Proofread records and forms; copy needed information from one record to another as required. File records in inmate official record folder.9. Maintain, update and file all terminated inmate records in accordance with directives.10. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.11. Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work.Education and Experience Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent, and ONE (1) year related experience. Computer knowledge desired. United States Citizenship required. Valid Driver's License in the State of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.Post Hire Requirements:Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass annual background check, both of which must be approved by the FBOP
