Under the supervision of the Technical Manager and Holding Area
nurses, performs a variety of nonprofessional duties including safe
transportation of patients, shave prepping, assisting nurses with
vital signs and sheath removal, and stocking and preparing
supplies. Close supervision required.
* Verifies patient identification and safely transports patients
to and from all areas of the hospital efficiently. In a courteous
manner, introduces self to patient and family and directs family to
waiting area. * Prepares the designated procedure site by properly
completing the shave prep, as per established protocol, protecting
the patient's privacy. * Assists licensed personnel with sheath
removal and establishment of hemostasis. Immediately reports signs
of complications. Applies sterile dressing appropriately. * Assists
licensed personnel with patient vital signs, 12-Lead EKG's,
elimination, and other patient care needs. * Stocks caps, masks,
and shoe covers above the scrub sinks each day before 0700 and at
the end of the day. * Cleans the mop buckets and changes mop heads
per established protocol for each dirty utility room. * Assists
with comprehensive operation of the Cath Lab by readily
participating in efficient preparation of Holding Areas, terminal
cleaning, running errands, making deliveries, making copies, cost
containment and quality improvement activities.
Minimum Position Qualification:
* H.S. Diploma or GED
License / Certifications:
* Must obtain BLS within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
* Coursework/Training - Nursing Assistant or Transportation Aide
training or equivalent educ/experience
