Covenant Health is seeking a full time, day shift (variable) Sr Manager Environmental Services with the Environ Services Department at Covenant Medical Center. Job Summary: The Sr. Mgr. Environmental Service has overall responsibility for the direction and guidance for the department. Responsible to plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and control the activities of environmental services and linen departments. The Sr Mgr will be accountable to the Regional Director, for monitoring expenses, for training of caregivers in safety and other work practices/procedures. Coordination of the work of outside vendors and contractors. Leading the inspection and documentation activities required by regulatory bodies such as the Joint Commission. Serve as a change agent, role model, facilitator, and coach for caregivers on all shifts. Provide leadership in achieving ongoing safety, productivity, and efficiency in the Environmental Services and Linen departments. Essential Functions: Lead High Performance Work Groups: Gains the trust of work groups by being honest and consistent, keeping commitments, exchanging ideas openly, and providing support. Provides timely guidance and feedback to help work groups improve their performance results. Builds a cohesive, high-performing work group by clarifying accountabilities, involving the group in decisions, and providing resources. Inspires high levels of group performance by communicating and modeling the organizations Mission and Values.
Manage Strategy: Establishes plans to execute organizational strategy by prioritizing and assigning tasks, resources, and accountabilities. Analyzes information, generates alternatives, and commits to daily decisions that are consistent with the organizations strategies. Analyzes and applies financial and industry data to maximize the impact of the organizations strategies on market share.
Align Work Group with New or Evolving Organizational Paradigms: Encourages the acceptance and execution of the organizations vision. Influences others to commit to action that organizational vision. Establishes performance objectives, tracks and evaluates performance to align behavior with the organizations vision. Communicates and models the organizational vision in a way that motivates others to take action toward that vision.
Model the Values and Behavioral Standards: Encourages the acceptance and execution of the organizations Values and behavioral standards; Influences others to commit to action that supports the organizations Values and behavioral standards. Establishes performance objectives, tracks and evaluates performance to align behavior with the organizations Values. Drive Caregiver Engagement through open communications, recognition efforts, and accountability Ensure proper training for all staff to drive quality outcomes and meet regulatory standards.
Manage daily operations in a hands on manner through physical rounding to check for quality, coordinating of dismissal flow, and addressing any concerns from patients or staff.
Mange fiscal budget through proper supply management, staff utilization, and cost containments.
Drive patient Satisfaction through consist execution; seeking patient and guest feedback; and acting upon information gained from rounding as well as from Patient Satisfaction surveys Maintain communications with Regional Director to keep him/her informed of any complaints or issues as well as provide updates on staffing, projects and operational performance.
Ensures compliance with Joint Commission, CMC, State of Texas and City of Lubbock regulations that relate to the hospital and associated facilities. Minimum Position Qualifications: Education: H.S. Diploma or GED Experience: 5 years supervisory experience 2 years training/experience in general knowledge of environmental services; i.e. housekeeping techniques Preferred Position Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: Computer experience 10 or more years of Supervisory experience License/Certification: Certification from CHESP or other Healthcare Environmental Services certification is preferred.
