The Role:

Xylem seeks to hire a Scheduling Coordinator. As a member of theProduction/Scheduling Team, the Scheduling Coordinatorwillbe responsible for analyzing Inventory Management System (ERP-LX) reports and creating shop orders to support on-time delivery objectives of product for Customer Orders and maintaining inventory levels.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Review all BOM and parts orders and requisition special material as required and place transfer orders
  • Utilize planner report and production tracker to identify stock items in need, and take appropriate action, ie: expedite, requisition, etc.
  • Identify and communicate with purchasing and the stockroom as issues arise, work collectively to find resolution and/or escalate as necessary.
  • Provide status updates of planned/firm planned and shop orders supporting customer orders through the Production Tracker.
  • Assist stockroom personnel to resolve inventory discrepancies related to Machine Shop receipts.
  • Interface with customers for lead time/quoting as needed on quick turn orders
  • Responsible for facilitating quick ship orders and unassembled orders including order entry, pump module, new part loads, routings, order documentation creation and management per ISO standards
  • Review Bill of Materials and Lead Time Calculator to establish and maintain pull date and initial scheduled ship dates for all orders with understanding of factors such as assembly capacity and customer required ship date
  • Update Customer Service and Purchasing
  • Manage status of orders relative to lead time issues (ie: patterns, alloys, foundries, etc.) and work closely with Purchasing and Manufacturing to plan deliveries at appropriate time for each order
  • Expedite/De-Expedite orders through Purchasing and Manufacturing
  • Create Shop Orders for additional items made in assembly for pumps/parts
  • Create and modify shop orders for pump assembly and create and/or verify Bill of Material and routing accuracy
  • Process Change Orders received from other departments as needed
  • Enter status updates into tracking spreadsheet
  • Assist in all other departmental responsibilities as requested


Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

(Minimal education & experience, essential skills & abilities and required license/certification to perform this job.)

  • Bachelors of Science degree required or High School Diploma + 4 years of experience in a professional office setting.
  • Production and Inventory Control experience required.
  • Problem solving skills and strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be knowledgeable in MS Office applications, Excel and Access experience required.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a safe and well organized workplace, and ensure that all Best Practices and safety initiatives are followed.
  • Strong short term project management skills required with an ability to prioritize tasks associated with multiple projects at a given time.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in a technical field preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, utilize critical thinking, and prioritize.
  • Pump experience preferred.
  • Inventory management system (ERPLx) experience highly preferred.
  • Should have the ability to interface well with others and to take direction from others, as required.
