Food and Nutrition Service Department at Covenant Medical

The cook assumes the responsibility for the preparation of a
variety of foods for patients, cafeteria services, and special
functions. The cook is also involved in sanitation and kitchen
maintenance. Under direct supervision.
- Ability to prepare a variety of cold foods, hot entrees,
vegetables and soups for patients, cafeteria and catering
- Assumes the responsibility for proper plating, panning, and
garnishing of products.
- Is responsible for proper labeling and marking of special diet
- Properly stores, labels and dates leftover products.
- Knows basic cooking skills, terminology, and how to convert
recipes into different quantities.
- Knows how to read, follow and record information on production
- Assumes the responsibility for cleaning and sanitizing the
equipment used in the production area.
