The Provost is the Chief Academic Officer of Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) who has responsibility
for academic affairs, and drives the vision of diversity, equity
and inclusion. The Provost collaborates with the President and
Deans in setting and funding overall academic priorities and
allocates funds to carry these forward. Reporting to the President,
the Provost provides leadership to all academic areas so they align
with and support the Vision, Mission and Values of the TTUHSC
enterprise. The Provost is an advocate for all academic programs,
providing leadership to Deans, faculty and academic staff to ensure
consistent quality standards in curriculum and programs that meet
the needs of students. The Provost oversees the academic integrity
of the university and provides leadership for emergent issues and
long-range planning; budgeting; curriculum; program development;
and leads efforts to expand interprofessional education (IPE)
experiences across all schools and campuses.
The Provost has direct leadership responsibility and provides
support for the Deans of the academic schools as well as those
serving in Vice, Associate and Assistant Provost positions. The
Provost has leadership responsibilities for academic affairs,
student affairs, Title IX activities, and the Institute of
Anatomical Sciences. The Provost ensures compliance with various
accreditation agencies as well as state accreditation and
regulation. The Provost shall serve on the TTUHSC executive
leadership councils, and represent academic Deans and the Office of
the Provost in executive cabinet meetings.

Empowers a collaborative team of Deans to provide innovative
educational programs that prepare students to be competent and
caring health care professionals;
Promotes excellence and enhances academic instruction, research,
scholarship, creative activity, public service and the diversity of

promotion, tenure or dismissal of faculty and makes recommendations
to the President;
Collaborates with TTU System governmental relations, and local,
state and federal officials;
Participates in community, alumni, and donor activities.
Terminal degree and more than eleven years’ experience, with a
minimum of three years successful experience as Dean, in a higher
education, healthcare-related enterprise.

position with an accredited health-related institution. Experience

Excellent communication skills, strong budget management
experience and history of successful strategic management.
Experience responding to or managing public health crises.

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the
individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring
department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional
