Principal Software Engineering - SREAs an SRE, you will be involved in exciting technical challenges by analyzing, troubleshooting, and designing vital services, platforms, and infrastructure while always thinking about reliability, scalability, resilience, security, and usability.You will help to create an automated, highly available and resilient environment, proactively test and tune all aspects of the infrastructure, streamline CICD processes, monitor, and respond to system notifications and alerts while continually working to optimize and improve the performance, security, and reliability of our systems.Join us as a Software Principal Engineer on our Software Engineering team in Remote US to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.What you'll achieveAs a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer's business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.You will:Implement automation, CICD processes and tools to make our services simpler and more robustTake part in the full software development life cycle including development, test, continuous delivery and support as well as be an active member of an agile team, collaboratively realizing features through development, test and deliveryImplement monitoring for reliable operations of all applications and initiate corrective action plans when appropriate.Monitor incident trends (including gaps and inaccuracies) and institute continuous process improvements.Provide informal incident process and requirement training to cross-functional teams, as needed, to support consistent incident management execution. Here's what we are looking for with this role:Essential RequirementsExperience in performance optimization and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems as well as with deploying, supporting and monitoring new and existing services, platforms, and application stacksExperience with scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planningExperience deploying systems built on a microservice architecture utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and CICD Tools such as Jenkins and ArtifactoryConfiguration Management experience with Chef, Puppet, Ansible or Python.Knowledge of Kubernetes Configuration technologies such as Helm, Helm Charts , Code Artifact, ECR etc.Desirable Requirements-- - - 6 to 8 years of related experience-- - - Bachelor's degreeHere's our story; now tell us yoursDell Technologies helps organizations and individuals build a brighter digital tomorrow.
