Associate Surgical Technician and Surgical Technician at Covenant Health summary: This posting recruits Associate, Surgical, and Senior Surgical Technicians to work in perioperative and surgical services, assisting with sterile field maintenance, passing instruments, prepping supplies, decontaminating and processing equipment, and supporting circulating nurses. Positions require varying levels of education/certification from enrollment in a surgical tech program up to national certification (CST or NCCT) and BLS. Roles are full-time, on-site at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX, with hiring bonuses, shift differentials, and benefits described. Description This is a combined posting for Associate Surgical Technician, Surgical Technician and Senior Surgical Technician. The Associate Surgical Tech-Perioperative assists in the OR and Surgical Services Department (Pre/Post-op, Sterile Processing), cleaning and preparing patient bays and operating rooms, safely transporting patients, retrieving, decontaminating and delivering equipment, stocking general supplies, processing and maintaining equipment and instruments, and other duties assigned. May assist with prepping and opening supplies before surgery. As a member of the surgical team, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse Circulator, maintains the operating room sterile field; passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery. Insures that proper aseptic technique is utilized to prevent contamination and infection. Performs in the role of second scrub and/or first assistant as needed. Assists the registered nurse with circulating duties.
