Position Description
Provides leadership and direction in all aspects of administering
multiple university branch campuses or major satellite locations.
Meets ORP eligibility requirements. Plans, develops and implements
strategies for generating resources and revenues. Has budget
administrative oversight of overall operations of units. Reports to
Vice President or above. Directs and supervises multiple Managing
Directors.
Major/Essential Functions
Reporting directly to the President, the Executive Director will be
responsible for:
Developing and maintaining an organizational structure within the
Institute to ensure TTUHSC's strategic objectives related to
telehealth are achieved;
Developing a budget and business plan that will promote fiscal
accountability and sustain Institute operations into the
future;
Pursuing and managing external funding sources related to
telehealth;
Collaborating with the TTUHSC community to set additional
priorities and objectives related to telehealth;
Developing a university-wide action plan that outlines a specific
set of achievable goals that will advance telehealth across our
university community;
Developing metrics to measure and report progress made toward
achieving telehealth objectives;
Collaborating with appropriate TTUHSC leaders to oversee successful
development and implementation of excellent teaching and training
programs in telehealth within academic programs, clinics,
affiliated health systems, etc.;
Developing coaching strategies and forums to address issues
specific to telehealth;
Providing oversight of TTUHSC's telehealth training center;
Serving as a subject-matter expert in telehealth trends, telehealth
technology, and telehealth laws and regulations;
Assisting TTUHSC and its divisions in complying with federal,
state, and local laws and regulations related to telehealth;
Participating in and providing routine updates to the President's
Cabinet;
Serving as a key strategic advisor to the President on all matters
related to telehealth;
Representing TTUHSC by attending and participating in conferences,
workshops, and other educational activities related to
telehealth;
Building partnerships and engaging with internal and external
stakeholders to achieve telehealth objectives;
Collaborating with TTUHSC leaders to expand access to quality
health care through advancements in telehealth;
Inspiring and guiding creation and adoption of telehealth best
practices that can be used by clinical teams across TTUHSC;
Identifying new opportunities for the use of telehealth across
local, regional, and national markets;
Collaborating with TTUHSC team members to promote and generate
research in the area of telehealth, focusing on outcomes and
efficacy;
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Masters Degree required, terminal degree preferred. Nine years
progressively responsible management experience required. Education
beyond the masters level may substitute for required experience on
a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Successful candidates for the Executive Director position may
possess the following qualifications and experience:
A doctorate degree in medicine (M.D or D.O.) or a terminal degree
in a clinical discipline where telehealth is meaningful and
relevant;
A minimum of ten years telemedicine-related experience, preferably
at an institution of higher education;
Significant educational, professional, and life experiences that
have prepared the candidate to effectively lead the Institute for
Telehealth Technology and Innovation;
Extensive knowledge of telehealth, current trends and best
practices;
Prior experience with building and implementing telehealth related
education and training;
Subject matter expertise in federal and state laws and regulations
related to telehealth;
Demonstrated ability to manage projects, operations, and develop
policies and procedures related to telehealth;
Strong record of funding and publication in telehealth;
National reputation as an expert in telehealth;
Prior experience with community-based health care delivery systems
and/or community-based programs and pilots, especially in rural
areas with broadband issues and known health disparities among
multicultural populations;
History of career advancement within higher education or health
care management;
Demonstrated ability in developing and managing successful business
models with extensive knowledge of the business and financial
issues involved with telehealth;
Demonstrated ability in managing change throughout an
organization;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and
external stakeholders;
Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data to assess
programs;
The ability to listen, persuade, show appreciation, and collaborate
with interdisciplinary teams;
Excellent change management and conflict-resolution skills;
Demonstrated ability in building relationships of trust with groups
or individuals with diverse backgrounds;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Expertise in strategic planning and assessment.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the
individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring
department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional
