GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Program Director is responsible for the overall development, direction, and day to day delivery of program services and activities. Duties will be carried out to deliver the best possible services to each client in accordance with the goals of the client, recommendations of the treatment team and mission of Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute. The Program Director will uphold the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization while maintaining strict confidentiality of personnel and client data and information in the performance of assigned duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervise staff and clinical program; coordinates efforts with other Moody Neurorehabilitation Facilities; represent Moody Neuro to the host facility and community. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtains and maintains Assisted Living Facility Manager license.
    • Ensures facility and program meet licensure and accrediting standards.
      • Program policy and procedures development (in accordance with CARF and other accrediting bodies), revision, distribution, interpretation, and education.
        • Designs, implements, and evaluates the content and process of clinical services.
          • Supervises and evaluates direct reports.
            • Works to design and implement a program evaluation system and Continuous Quality Improvement System, incorporating feedback from surveys and persons served.
              • In partnership with Physical Plant, directs and assists in emergency procedures for fire, evacuation and medical emergencies.
                • Integrates Moody Neuro mission, purpose, and services philosophy into routine practices and procedures.
                  • Reviews and approves hiring and termination of the program/clinical staff. (Final termination is at the discretion of the Administrator).
                    • Coordinates between clinical departments and residential staff to provide quality physical care needs of the clients. Use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships among team members.
                      • Coordinates daily operations of program through direct reports and internal case managers.
                        • Oversees "on-call" system.
                          • Establishes the meeting structure for the program.
                            • Attends team meetings on a regular basis.
                              • Oversees Nursing and Case Management systems.
                                • Oversees and ensures the quality of general program orientation.
                                  • Serves as a resource for interview and screening applicants.
                                    • Coordinates the admission process. If needed, assists with timely off-site screenings of prospective clients.
                                      • Serves as a member of the facility management team with others at Moody Neuro Galveston.
                                        • Utilizes feedback from all available sources to review and revise program as needed.
                                          • Coordinates and approves program budget and endorses operation with budgeting guidelines.
                                            • Represents Moody Neuro at conferences and other meetings.
                                              • Authorization of Purchase Orders.
                                                • Ensures content and quality of Patient Record meets the standards of Moody Policies and State and other accrediting agencies such as CARF.
                                                  • In partnership with Physical Plant, directs and assists in emergency procedures for fire, evacuation, and medical emergencies.
                                                    • Works to develop and support positive community relations.
                                                      • Serves as a liaison between Moody Neuro clinical staff and medical consultants.
                                                        • Performs duties in accordance with Moody Neuro organizational policy, CARF and other accrediting bodies.
                                                          • Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
                                                            • Understanding of healthcare administration procedures, consultation, principles, and methods.
                                                              • Understanding of the dynamics of head trauma rehabilitation.
                                                                • Knowledge of the community resources.
                                                                  • Knowledge of current social problems and stresses which may affect the mental health of the individual and family group.
                                                                    • Understanding of rehabilitation philosophy and treatment.
                                                                      • Ability to provide objective supervision to clinical and residential staff.
                                                                        • Ability to work with other disciplines within the organization.
                                                                          • Ability to write and speak effectively.
                                                                            • Proficiency with technology and networking systems as necessary to utilize them at maximum benefit. Including but not limited to; MS Word, MS Excel, teleconferencing, Moody Neuro billing systems and medical records systems.
                                                                              • Maintains current license, CPR, Texas drivers license and NCI. Education: B.A required. Masters degree and licensure in nursing or one of the rehab disciplines preferred (i.e. PT, OT, SLP, Psychology). Experience: At least three years experience in a traumatic brain injury rehabilitation setting. At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a comparable or related healthcare setting.
