Network Engineer job summary
Celebrating over 80 years in business and nominated Best In The West for 9 years and runningour client is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to provide the hardware, software, network, and communication support needed to maintain the security and efficiency of the organizations information systems.
Network Engineer responsibilities

  • Procure, implement, maintain, and support the organizations IT infrastructure, including its physical and virtualized servers, server software, security applications, and network communications; currently deployed systems and components include Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office 365, Cisco networking devices, the VMWare virtualization platform, IBM iSeries, and Dell servers and storage devices
  • Maintain and continually improve data security practices and controls. Perform all responsibilities with the highest regard for the security of the organization and its members, employees, and data
  • Maintain a highly available and fault-tolerant IT infrastructure; maintain and regularly test disaster recovery solutions such as server backups
  • Maintain the physical security, functionality, and tidiness of spaces that house IT infrastructure hardware
  • Document processes and changes in a detailed and uniform fashion. Follow established procedures for system configuration and documentation. Develop best practices and documentation thereof regarding the organizations IT infrastructure
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and industry shifts in standard solutions and best practices; evaluate and implement such technologies and standards when beneficial to the organization
  • Maintain relationships with vendors
  • Complete and/or manage special projects as assigned by the IT Manager
    Network Engineer skills/expectations
    • Aptitude and eagerness for learning from and teaching coworkers
    • Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members and employees alike
    • Gain and maintain a high level of knowledge of all supported systems, and to actively (and continually) pursue increasing that knowledge
    • Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance
    • Complete all required compliance training and abide by governmental rules and regulations
      Network Engineer requirements
      • Minimum of a two-year degree from an accredited college or university in computer sciences or related field
      • 7+ years of experience supporting and servicing computer infrastructure and systems
      • Certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare and/or IBM preferred
      • Prior employment with a financial institution preferred
        Network Engineer compensation
