also handling the administrative responsibilities of keeping track
of our inventory. Our Lamar office in Lubbock Texas is now hiring a
new design team member to help us bring effective outdoor
advertising campaigns to life for brands in Lubbock, TX and the

position is $16- $18 / hour, dependent on relevant experience and
skills.Position Purpose:This is a hybrid position of a Graphic
Designer and Administrative Specialist; spending efforts on both
general administrative support for various departments, which may
include charting digital and/or static structures, and the creative
process by working with the sales teams to provide artwork for new
and existing clients.Essential Functions and
Responsibilities:Graphic Design
- Create and design visually appealing and functional structure
artwork, ensuring the graphic designs are "outdoor friendly" while
adhering to schedule requirements in timely manner. Includes
working with clients to convert their current graphic designs to
effective outdoor designs, and helping clients with sizing and
translation issues when providing their own artwork
- Work with other markets to promote and produce campaigns for
new digitals and/or PowerPoint presentations
- Manage special requests and/or graphic designs that require
special attention
- Communicate with the printers on uploading art, confirming art
dimensions, and confirming advertisement dimensions
- Work with the Sales Department to produce spec art and campaign
ideas for client proposals.Administrative Support
- May be responsible for providing administrative support to all
departments in the company, including answering phones, typing
correspondence, inputting and researching data, inputting and
ordering production, taking and uploading POP photos, and managing
social media content.Charting Support
- Maintain up-to-date lists of inventory for posters and
bulletins and digital slots
- Maintain an "end-of-day" inventory of all printed materials
delivered to the plant and account for deliveries in the charting
system
- On a daily basis, chart all requests, contracts and special
requests from Sales Account Executives, National Sales, Sales
Manager and General Manager for posters, bulletins (both "Perms"
and "Rotaries") and digital slots in a timely and accurate manner.
Upload all digital art for play. Upon request upload static art to
Circle Graphics
- Ride the market routinely to check for flags, inaccurate
postings, old expired copy and other service issues (i.e.
lighting). Assist Sales Account Executives and the Operations
Department with illumination problems by checking software program
and status of illumination. Schedule work orders for illumination
repairs upon requestKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Aptitude, thorough understanding and proficiency in Outdoor
design
- Ability to communicate effectively with proper grammar in
person, over phone and via e-mail
- Ability to design visually with the proficiency to distinguish
color patterns and identify good use of color
- Thorough knowledge of departmental processes and procedures, as
well as company policies
- Knowledge of inventory and territory is preferred
- Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating
workloads
- Ability to design visually appealing outdoor advertisements and
marketing materials by converting verbal requests into visual
designs
- Skill in working independently and following through on
assignments with minimal direction
- Must be self-motivated, personable, team-player with a positive
and accommodating attitude
- Must be creative, forward-thinking, with a solid understanding
of design concepts, particularly layout and typography
- Must have strong communications and organizational skills, with
the ability to balance projects, set deadlines, and manage
expectations
- Must be able to design within our company branding
guidelines
- Ability to brainstorm individually and collaboratively, mock up
designs, and present ideas
- Must have an eye for details and be able to respond positively
to constructive criticism
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Basic knowledge of PowerPoint and other presentation programs,
such as Keynote or Prezi
- Basic knowledge of the print production process
- Basic knowledge of Excel. Comfortable working in and developing
multiple spreadsheets
- Strong analytical skillsEducation, Experience, and Location
Requirements:
- An Associate's Degree, or up to 3 years of college or technical
school, in graphic arts or Graphic Design is required
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in graphic arts as a Graphic
Designer is preferred
- A driver's license is preferred.
- Or another equivalent combination of education and
experiencePhysical Demands and Work Environment:
- The primary work environment for this position is an office,
but some locations may require driving in the market on a weekly
basis
- The physical demands for this position include light lifting,
reaching, seeing (with a focus on reading, color distinction, and
acuity), sitting more than 50% of the time, standing, talking,
turning, and walking
- Nights spent away from home are less than 10%.
